Juliet is interested only in someone who stirs her heart when she looks at him. She agrees that Paris may be all that any young girl could possibly want but states that she will "look to like if looking liking moves" In other words she will look at him and try to like him. So what she sees in Romeo she likes and as he stirs her heart she can see no other.
Both Romeo and Juliet are young and impulsive and can think of nothing other than the moment and their feelings of the moment. Juliet also feels trapped by her fathers insistance that she marry Paris. Romeo and Juliet may well have made a good pair but the stars had other ideas in store for them.
Romeo was in love with love and the idea of it. Firstly with Rosaline who he was so in love with and mooning around unconsolable as Rosaline did not want him. The Friar chastises Romeo over his fickle heart as one minute in love with Rosaline and the next thing he is so in love with Juliet that he cannot live without her.
