do this one from hamlet...its awesome and it has a lot of emotion..and its not hard to convey this emotion either...its all in the words.

Oh, that this too, too sullied flesh would melt,
130 Thaw, and resolve itself into a dew,
Or that the Everlasting had not fixed
His canon 'gainst self-slaughter! O God, God!
How weary, stale, flat, and unprofitable
Seem to me all the uses of this world!
135 Fie on 't, ah fie! 'Tis an unweeded garden
That grows to seed. Things rank and gross in nature
Possess it merely. That it should come to this.
But two months dead—nay, not so much, not two.
So excellent a king, that was to this
140 Hyperion to a satyr. So loving to my mother
That he might not beteem the winds of heaven
Visit her face too roughly.—Heaven and earth,
Must I remember? Why, she would hang on him
As if increase of appetite had grown
145 By what it fed on, and yet, within a month—
Let me not think on 't. Frailty, thy name is woman!—
A little month, or ere those shoes were old
With which she followed my poor father's body,
Like Niobe, all tears. Why she, even she—
150 O God, a beast that wants discourse of reason
Would have mourned longer!—married with my uncle,
My father's brother, but no more like my father
Than I to Hercules. Within a month,
Ere yet the salt of most unrighteous tears
155 Had left the flushing in her gallèd eyes,
She married. O most wicked speed, to post
With such dexterity to incestuous sheets!
It is not nor it cannot come to good,
But break, my heart, for I must hold my tongue.

ummm do the 1 from a midsummers night dream where helana is plotting her plan to tell demtrius

hecuba's speech from the trojan women if you want classical (starts with something like get up you poor old crone) or for contemporary choose a strong character from any of your favourite films. scripts all over the net.

Are trying to get a role as a boy or as a girl? Contact me and I'll have a Speech for you in 1 day.

There are so many good ones to pick. Romeo and Juliet have a lot of emotion to them, and any of Shakespear's work has one-person lines that last a long time. But who says you can't use something from one of your favorite movies? Just go online and look for scripts from, say, Pirates of the Carribean. Choose something that has emotions that tie in with the part you're playing. And rehearse, rehearse, rehearse. You can find almost anything on google. But make sure that it ties in with the play you are trying out for. Go for a dramatic piece with a drama, a funny piece for a comedy, etc. Also try to find something that makes sense. If it's hard for you to understand the thee, thy, thou, and art thing, don't use a piece like that.

Romeo and Juliet has great parts. You need to choose a part that speaks to your soul, only then can you perform with excellence.
