Listen to something that is really slow and soothing. I like listening to stuff like Coldplay or Jack Johnson, music that's just really easy-going and it calms me down a fair bit. Do lots of theatre warm-up exercises too, I try to shake out my nerves before I get on stage. Is this your first time being in a big show? If so, you very well might not even have issues with stage fright. I know that's how I was with my first show. I was visibly shaking before I went on, but once I opened my mouth, I was fine. You can really feed off of your audience's energy if they're responsive! =] A shot of Jack Daniels before you go on. That should do it, dear. Truthfully the more you get exited over the show you get the less nervous you'll be. Break a leg, ~ash~ you won't flub the line as long as you practice, and i think that the nervousness can actually be a good thing, just take a deep breath before you go on, and imagine it's just another dress rehersal. Actually, last week when i was performing in a show, i wasn't nervous at all and i kinda wish i had felt a little nervous, because it wakes me up and gives me energy! Break a Leg! just take a day to chill. turn on some music that makes you feel good and dance around like you're a crazy person. shake it up! move dance! get excited! that'll loosen up any nervous tension. |
