Steps:

Step 1
Once Decide whether you want to be a professional actress or an amateur. If you want to be a professional, read on.

Step 2
Move to a major city. Eventually, New York or Los Angeles will be your destination, but as you build your résumé of experience you can work in other major metropolitan areas that have good theater or film communities.

Step 3
Enroll in acting class. Good actors study their entire lives. To choose a good class, ask trusted, successful professionals for references.

Step 4
Get a headshot.

Step 5
Compose a résumé of all the work you have done so far. As your body of work grows, drop the less professional work (such as school plays) from your résumé.

Step 6
Send your headshot and résumé with a brief cover letter to all the casting directors and agents in your area. Follow up with postcards every four to six months, updating them on your current acting projects.

Step 7
Read the trade papers regularly: "Backstage," "Dramalogue," "The Ross Reports" and "Variety," as well as online publications such as newenglandfilm.com, as appropriate. Know what is being cast where, and send headshots and notes directly to directors and producers whenever possible, requesting auditions.

Step 8
EightAlways accept invitations to industry events and parties, and meet industry professionals whenever possible. Who you know is extremely important.

Step 9
NinePersevere.

You have to move to HOLLYWOOD!!!!!

If your in high school, take a drama class. After High School, get involved with filmmaking.

reseach it. you want it bad enough you'll figure it out. who cares if you have an accent?

have you ever considered modeling? that's height is amazing for a girl and looks are crucial to being an actress so it wouldn't be so different being a movie star....well you might get a slight more recognition but think of what you're doing b/c you're blessed to have such an astonishing height and it's a good thing...srry i couldn't help so much

if u wanna be an actress..take some drama lessions or go to a drama school...or else look in a phone book and look for studios

its kinda better to start at a younger age and learn but there is alot of games to play to help u act! i went to acting camp for years and its alots of fun. you should try to find a acting book my sister has a big book on acting.

Get a coach - acting
Try your local theatre
Head Shots
Modeling - Lessons - Poise
Ballet or any other form of dance

I use to be a agent - So I do know what I'm talking about, This doesn't guarantee you that you will be the next Angelie Jolie, but you may be the next Keri Rusell .

Play the foriegn card that could be a plus

honestly. the only way your likely to get any acting in hollywood. would be low budget films. you would have to be extremely attractive. have good acting skills. and be okay to nude scenes.
im well aware i sound perverted.
but my best friend from high school was a great actress. she had the body of a godess. and after three months she had to come back home. couldnt cut it. she resently went back about 5 months ago. she said shes doing okay. however my other friend said he found her on a porn website. i dear not look. she is a good person. but life is full of evil.
i wish you the best of luck though

Lot of people r not from here n they might have an accent but who cares??take an example of Jennifer LOpez, Enrique..they r not from America n they speak different language still they r the STAR...All you need to have is a qualification and the ability to perform. Which u can start from an institution. Find an institution first..

Get an agent and get some headshots, they should be able to help you from there.

bic is right, if you want it bad enough, you'll figure it out :-).

If you want to be in film, move to Hollywood. If you want to be onstage, move to New York.

Uma Thurman is 6' tall. You just have to find a tall leading man :-)

A Lot of people love accents, so I don't see a problem there. And I'm in ninth grade, and my friend is 6 foot tall. I'm 5 foot, so it's kinda hard to whisper things in her ear. lol, anyway, she wants to be a singer or an actress, and she isn't letting anything stop her. You should be like her. Take your bad things and turn them into good things!
