I have choir soon and i am trying out for a solo....help?

I used to be a solist for years so the best thing to do is drink some warm tea. Believe it or not it does miracle with the vocal cords. My singing teacher had discovered that and before the choir would perform, ten to twelve minutes or so, she would offer us warm (not hot) tea.

relax, be sure you get good nights rest, think positive, if your trying out, your voice is already fine, pick a song your very comfortable with, if your allowed to chose, but most of all, relax, focus on the song, not your peers.
