The very first thing you need to do is disregard the first person that commented on here. I'm sure he's not the first to tell you it's unrealistic and he won't be the last...so you must continue on and not let the people bother you that say "It won't happen."

Next, you need to start small. Try out for local theater, or if you live near any large cities, I'm sure you could find casting studios. Casting studios often hold open calls and you only need resume/headshots to go there.

So I recommend getting professional headshots and start getting your name out there and builing your resume. Even if it's only extras, you need to build your foundation!

Good luck and don't give up!

This question is asked at least 100 times a week here. At this point, just refer to similar questions. You have little chance of being an actress in the big time. Very little. Try out for school plays and community theater. That's it.

I would suggest taking voice lessons, acting classes, start auditioning for every play you can. Even if there isn't a part that is right for you, the experience of auditioning will just make you better. Depending on what area you live in the opportunities will be plentiful or scarce. But take advantage of all the resources available to you.

Never pay for an agency that promises you fame or an agent. Real agencies never charge you. Once you have a bit of experience under your belt and are able to get professional head shots taken you ( or your parents depending on your age) could start submitting to real agencies.

Study actors and singers that you love. Pay attention to what it is that makes them so good and then learn how to create a style of your own. See as many plays as possible and simply immerse yourself to the best of your ability in the world of show business.

Start reading plays, practice reading them aloud. See if people will read them with you and work on creating characters.

Go to the library and check out books about getting started in acting and show business. There is some great advice in them about how to chose monologues, how to get headshots taken, where to look for an acting coach, the do's and don't at auditions, etc. Be prepared to work hard but if you commit enough and put your mind to it you could be one of the successful ones. There are millions of people with the same dream as you but some people do make it. Who knows it could be you.
