Question:HOW CAN THE THREE/FOUR JUDGES GET THROUGH ALL OF THOSE AUDITIONING??

From what I see there are hundreds of thousands of wannabe's in stadiums, queuing four hours in each city to get in front of Simon Cowell, Randy, Paula (or the UK) Louis, Sharron & maybe Dannii.

But at an average audition time of 2minutes (from the clips), thats at best 30 per hour, and say 300-400 in a grueling ten hour day (with or without Simon & co going for lunch).

I see there is a culling process of some kind in the stadiums with teams of pre-judges, but still plenty of no-hopers get through the net.

Could someone please help me with the numbers and how many the judges would expect to see in a day.

FYI:
NO: I am not interested in trying out - my garlic press has more talent than me!
YES: I'm a BIG fan but only of the really really really really bad auditions. When they are in the final rounds, I tune off

Thanks - Brad M

They don't. There are a team of spotter that trawl through the majority of the people that show up, and then they pick out the ones that either are completely deluded and will make funny TV by making the judges wince when they sing, or the ones that are really talented. The people the spotters pick are the one that make it onto the show.

Mate, of course no-hopers get through the net. That's deliberate.

You go through several audition rounds with crew members and producers. Their job is to pick either the fantastic singers who they think will stand a chance in the competition, or people who are absolutely terrible and will make good entertainment. The average singers without much personality or presence are cut and never see the real judges, because they are not entertaining enough to be filmed.

I would say that after all the cuts, the judges would not see more than 100 auditionees a day.
