The storyline is 2-3 sentences that sum up the basic story of the movie/play. If you think of any movie or play you will see that most of the times you can split the story into 3 parts. All stories are usually like this: 1) Someting causes an event to happen, 2) dealing with this event, 3) the outcome.

The plot would be more into detail. You can have a plot for each character.

samthing

plot is the Main main part of the play. lets say the lion king.. the plot would be how simba grows up , is orphaned by two other animals and finds a new life.

the story line is major events that happen in the play or movie would vary from a death in the family (mufasa dying) and then simba finding new friends ( timon and pumba)

A Plot is the basic outline of the story.
For example, The Plot line of Les Miserables is Jean Valjean's struggle for freedom from Javert and Society.
A storyline is an individual sotry or subplot that occurs to make the story more interesting.
Example, a subplot of Les Miserables would be Eponine. Everything that she does is not needed to tell the story, but her charactor progresses the story and makes it more interesting.
Generally, the storylines progress the plot itself.

Hope that helps
