There's not really a way to get over them. Everyone gets nervous, but there are a few tricks that make you feel less nervous. People always say try imagining the director or judges or whoever you're performing for in their underwear...which I find somewhat creepy. I prefer to imagine that I am doing the scene with my best friend. I use the scene as if it were a conversation with her and she gives imaginary response or questions that I answer with my performance.

Don't think about it! I remember my first play. I was nine years old, and I had 45 lines. I was so nervous, I felt like I was going to throw up! And on top of that, The prop I had to walk on stage with was a tray... and it was heavy, especially since I was only 40 pounds. But when I walked on, it felt JUST like practice! I didn't even realize the people at all! Just recently I performed, and I still didn't feel like there was an audience. So just pretend you're going to another reahersal! Everything will be fine!

Hope I helped!

Remember that everyone in the audience wants you to succeed. Your audience will also never judge you as harshly as you judge yourself. Nervous energy can be a good thing, use it to your advantage. I find that when I get up to speak if I am not at least a little bit nervous when I start, I feel like I have flopped by the time I am finished. Know your material well enough that you are confident. If you have studied your material and are not confident, study it some more. When you are confident your audience will relax and enjoy what you are doing, in turn so will you. I also find it helpful to video tape myself occasionally. It is tough to watch but it helps me fix things that allow me to do better in the future

hey, just take deep breathes and focus on ur piece, dont get over confident, thats what i do sometimes and thats how i screw up stuff.........u always need to be a little nervous........trust me.......it helps.......
