Les Miserables - One Day More (MAJOR showstopper, both scenically and musically.)

Urinetown - Act One Finale (Very dramatic and a bit funny too!)

I'd say "Wicked"'s act one finale is amazing!! The huge vocal number plus the visual effects are just awesome in my opinion and a great way to leave the audience hanging.

"The Drowsy Chaperone" has a very cute act one finale. "Mamma Mia!" has a pretty good cliff hanger kind of finale that makes you anxious to see what will happen next!

i think "Thoroughly Modern Millie" has a great act one finale. i know i couldn't wait for the intermission to be over just so i could see what was going to happen. it was pretty intense...

Look at "Tonight," from West Side Story. "One Day More," from Les Mis is based on this number.
