Critics, are supposed to go into a play/ film with an unbiased view. This is not always the case. SOme my like a particular director more than the other for instance. Some may perfer one genre over the other.

Have 10 or more un-biased opinions should be a good indication of how good or bad the play/film is.

These critics are professionals, know what makes a play good or bad. I think they can be justified. The public is going to spend their money on a play, they want it to be worth their time and money. What I feel is terrible is how one bad review on an opening night can actually break a new director's career.

This is why I don't go to movie theatres anymore. I can read reviews, and see hundreds of them on either end of the spectrum. Plus I don't think any movie is work spending $30 on when I can wait 6 months and rent it for $4.

Stage plays are different. They are live generally have a smaller audience. Therefore the reviews come from a smaller pool. And stage plays take certain kind of appretiation from audience members. My point is, if you are reading a stage play review about a particular play, the critic is a like minded indavidual who is serious about reviewing theatrics and will be sure to be as accurate and unbiased as possible.

Becasue of this, I would not go see a stage play that recieved a bad review. Becasue I know the review did not come from an unprofessional kid who's parents dreagged them to Broadway who goes into the play hating it before the overture.

it depends of the play theme cause some people have different points of view, someone that thinks that the play is good for another point of view a person might think its bad.
