What is the age appropriateness of Avenue Q?

Question:I have a 12 and a 9 year old who LOVE the theatre, and they are pretty worldly/entertainment savvy. I just don't know exactly how adult/risque' this show is.

I would say this show is appropriate for children 14 and over - if that. There is definitely some inappropriate content that your children are too young to be exposed to. However, if they love theatre you should definitely take them to see the show when they're older.

It does have some inappropraite content, I don't think that I would take them to that show. I think you should go and get the cd from your library and listen to it that way you can judge if it is too adult for them.

Avenue Q is a great show, but I don't think it would be appropriate for children of that age. I would wait until they are in their teens for sure. But listen to the CD and decide for yourself. Every kid is different.

here in the uk they advise that the show is only suitable for the over 13's
