Question:real Macbeth vs. Shakespeare's Macbeth

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: real Macbeth vs. Shakespeare's Macbeth

I think I got it... Shakespeare's play Mcbeth is based on a real Scottish King.

Wikipedia covers this quite well:

The real guy:

um what? aren't all macbeths shakespeare

Shakespeare's Macbeth is different than the actual Scottish King Macbeth. No one is for sure that the king's name was even Macbeth. He killed the sitting King Duncan in 1070 during a battle. He married Kenneth III's granddaughter Gnouch. He then killed Duncan's father and then was killed by Duncan's son. He ruled for 14 years, and there is no documentation supporting the witches. So that was a little drama Shakespeare added in. Shakespeare did that with a lot of his plays took a sliver of a story and made it into a great play.
