Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Being Big?

Question:ok well I have come to the conclusion that everytime I audition for something, I do a good job but usually the people who get the part were "Bigger" than I was. Well in about a month and a half I am auditioning for Beauty and the Beast, Belle is a dream role for me. Any tips on being big? The process is you sing a solo and then get called back the next day. My song is God Help the Outcasts. Like I said this is a dream role for me and I want to do whatever it takes to get it. Thanks for your help!

You will learn how to have a bigger stage presence as you practice and perform in front of audiences. It may have to do with your age (not sure how old you are).

Anyway, enjoy putting everything into those fun supporting roles until you get that big break of a lead character.

What they probably meant by "Bigger" was that their voice was more mature and fuller.

To develop this you may want to take a singing class or just keep rehearsing the song, making sure you fix what you need to fix.

Imagine you are across a very busy street from those auditioning you. You won't be heard or understood without being "big". Break a leg.

Maybe they are more mature than you are. Cant do much about that. Regardless of your dream role, you should always audition with the goal of just getting into the show and helping make it a success. To set your sights high and not reach your goal will make you unhappy. A good actor is just glad to help.
