Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: in romeo and juliet act one scene one. and the fueding families care the montagues and the capulets

The first quarrel establishes

1. The citizens are tired of the feud and so is the prince. He warns that the next to START a fight will be punished by death.

2. Tybalt is not one to quit a fight or help end one. His presence and actions show his hot temper and willingness to fight.

3. The Feud runs deep - affecting even the lowest of servants.

Although I read it last year, act I scene I's quarrel illustrates how the fued and grudges can last for years. It is amazing yet unfortunate how two families can dislike eachother due to a family fued that has nothing to do with them, directly. The quarrel was so petty and was over nothing but pride.

Hope this helps, I'm a little rusty ;-).
