Position:Home>Theater & Acting> What should I wear to an audition?

Question:It says to wear comfortable clothes since there will be movement auditions. Would black running pants and a blue shirt be too casual? I'm 16 and the audition is for a local theatre.

I would say that is fine. Especially for local theater, they're looking for your talent and raw beauty rather that what you look like with stage makeup and costume on. Just make sure they're a good fit and don't look sloppy, and you should make a great impression!

Good Luck!

Yup, id say you're good with that! Just they shouldnt be ripped and stuff. Otherwise just bring a bag with other clothes in it, to change just in case!

I think that should be fine, although my drama teacher told me to always wear completely black to auditions.

Yes, that is good.
Don't really worry about what you are wearing
just make sure you would be comfortable on stage with everyone looking at you
especially if you were dancing and moving around a lot.

if you are on stage with lights then i would say wear a little more makeup than usual just so it doesn't drown your face out =]

Something plain, I wore a fancy sparkly shirt to an audition once and everyone kept looking at me strangely...
