Hi Papi,

Yes, you should certainly include a brief cover letter when sending your resume to a casting director. Briefly tell them about yourself, your acting experience and your aspiration. Keep it down to about 1/2 page as the casting director gets lots of these. Try to stand out of the pack. Print it on quality paper or non white. You must make a good first impression.

I'm sure Jimmy is trying to help, but his examples will do you no good for the entertainment industry.

Look at these examples:

Your photo can be color or black and white these days. Honestly your agent should be handling submissions to casting directors, you shouldn't be sending them yourself. CD's throw tons of these types of submissions straight in the trash especially if they are not for anything inparticular.

Your agent will know whether it's more appropriate to send color or black and white in your particular market and even for that particular role. It may be best to have options.

good luck,
Marianne
