We're doing The Music Man as a school play. What character should I try out

Question:I am really energetic and have taking acting for 5 years.
I'm a girl and 14.
I have dance experience
Not a bad singing voice

I was thinking of trying out for Zaneeta. Is that a good role?

Music man is a wonderful play! If you have lots of energy then definately try out for Zaneeta, she is such a great character!
But, I would study a bunch of parts and try to be very "overall" with your audtion. So if they ask you what part you would like to be, then say that you would like to be a lead or a principal role. If the director(s) ask you to do somthing then make sure you do it and show them that you can do anything and you are the hardest worker.

i love the music man! I did it a few years back. Try out for zaneeta, gracie, ... i was about to say winthrop haha zaneeta is ok. she has a few minutes to herself on stage
