Position:Home>Theater & Acting> What broadway play would a 13 yr old girl and 10 yr old boy enjoy?

Question:Wicked is good for them. Familiar plots with young kids are always helpful. However, I remember as a kid that I would have short attention spans during musical and that I needed a play that was more plot driven. So maybe Lion King and Mary Poppins would also be good as its already proven with children.

However, I'd like to make an Off-Broadway suggestion. Try the Blue Man Group. More slap stick comedy and I watched it when I was 12 years old and thought it was hilarious. I am now 20 years old and I watched it again and it was still hilarious. Its good for all ages.

DO NOT take them to Avenue Q, even though it uses a Sesame Street dolls, the content is not suitable for children.

Best Bet: Wicked, if they can appreciate it (Knowing the Wizard of Oz story helps). Lion King and Mary Poppins are your safer bet (however not as exciting for the parents maybe)

Wicked

one thats not a musical

Grease or Hairspray

i saw the phantom of the opera with my deep class when i was 11 and everybody liked it

Lion King, Mary Poppins, and I agree, Wicked!

Mary Poppins, The Lion King.

hairspray

Mary Poppins?
Seussical?
Monty Python?

I'm not sure if these are still out.

I would say Wicked, and depending on their ability to stay involved in a plot, I would definitely have them see Miss Saigon!

Wicked is such a cool play. The music is fabulous and the story would appeal to both gals and guys.

hairspray, grease, anne of green gables,

Hairsprays my fave!!!

Cats!! All kids love animals :) I loved it when I was 9, haha. Although I'm not sure if it's still playing.

My two kids enjoyed Starlight Express

Mary Poppins.

Supercalifragalisticexpialadocious.

My first is when we went to see Beauty and the Beast.
So sad it does not play anymore =[

Hope that they enjoy the experience =]

Cats, if they ever bring it back.

Grease and Hairspray alot of ppl and kids luv it

Wicked for sure. Hairspray. Maybe Mary Poppins.

ANNIE also THE KING AND I THE SOUND OF MUSIC WESTSIDE STORY CATS!THE MUSIC MAN

Well, you might want to consider Little Mermaid, but with tickets at, what $150, it may be too much

wicked rocks ma sox p.s. who ever suggested westside story-that hasn't been on brodway for a long time neither has cats ya know what most of those arn't anymore

I'm 14 and i love musicals, my favorites are hairspray and wicked but the classics are incredible as well. what i mean by classics is beauty and the beast, the lion king, stuff like that. hope this helps

Jessica

Hairspray is your best bet.

Lion King
Mary Poppins
The Little Mermaid
Hairspray

Famialiar stories would probably be easiest for them to follow especially if they have never been to a musical.

Mary Poppins. No matter what age you are , you will love it , it is so magical.
