ah... well first remember just to have fun! When you are performing smile and let the audience know you are having a good time, make sure you don't leave it all at rehearsal... take the music and choreography home with you and practice. Respect the crew and the pit members, they can make you look good and bad... also respect and listen to the stage manager and director. Don't put people down and don't get upset if some one is to point out a few things you aren't doing correctly... accept the criticism. Remember that in order to have a good show you need to be positive and always willing to get to work.

Have FUN!

AdviCe, not adviSe.

I did my first high school musical this year too, but we did Footloose. The beginning is a lot of hard work, and eventually you'll have to learn the choreography, which is even harder. Upperclassmen may yell at you from time to time, but as long as you're focused on what you have to do, you'll be fine.

Doing the show is the best part, and it's always a great feeling when the audience cheers and hollers for you.

It goes by fast, so enjoy as much as you can. If they film your performance, I recommend that you buy it for a keepsake.

Just stay calm, I wont try to shove a bunch of advice down your throat. Because then you will try to remember it and mess up in the middle of your monologue. So just stay calm. I mean you can either act or you cant.

Take the opportunity to learn something. Behave professionally (even if no one else does :D).

Enjoy the camaraderie, take pictures, collect souvenirs. I am very glad now that I have pictures of every set I painted in high school.

Don't get drunk at the cast party (don't ask, 'cause I ain't tellin'.)
