Question: Comments on a poem about alterations, sort of!?
Tailor shop of
reputation Divine,
she walked into
with many complaints,
wearing dress of
magnificent design!.

"It doesn't fit right,
I find!.
It's too tight here
and wrinkles there,
I tug on it all
day long!.

It wears me
rather than me
wearing it!. Please,

can you alter my
mind and my steps!?

This dress, custom made
by the Master's hand,
is the only one
I shall ever have!.
I want to wear it well!."

Her heart was right,
alterations were made,
she walked in Beauty
again!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sometimes life seems to hang on us all like a frumpy old piece of flour sack, but with a change in outlook, it can fit like a perfectly tailored suit!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I read this one and then read through the other answers!. Went to the song Mek referred to and listened to it and then read your poem again!.
I am not sure about that!.

What I see is a woman going through life and when she gets to the age of understanding things, sees the wrinkles forming and wants to straighten them out--wrinkles in her soul--then, with ponderance and maybe even prayer 'sees the light' so to speak--maybe a life altering incident causes this--then she changes and sees more beauty around her and thus sees beauty in herself!.

Maybe I am over thinking your intent!.

Beauty resides in you, Ma!. Keep writing beauty to share!Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is one of the best poems I think you've written!. Although I am not so sure Bluebell missed the mark with "birthday suit", it seems that a birthday suit could well be a simile to life, but this concept constrasts with the idea of a dress being a cover of our shame!. There are so many angles to the idea thazt can be followed though after this poem, but alas that is why there is poetry!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Good poem Ma!.!.It makes you stop and think!.Its not the dress but the inner self that makes you beautiful!. Dont matter if there is wrinkles in our life but its up to us to iron them out!. Once you find that out you can hold your head up high no matter what the clothing u are wearing!. Its called pride and vanity!.I loved it!.!. kisses and hugs to u!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
