Question: Due to my last posting,does anyone know what this means as i'm thinking of taking up poetry!.!?

SO much can be revealed to one
Who bares his soul to chance
And much has man endured to gain
A fragment of a glance

Yet fate be held aloft by thread
And strain it cannot bear
So lift the veil with caution

I am not sure entirely but the second verse seems to be an allegory of the Damoclese story, with the sword over his head, and trapped for eternity beneath it!.

As to the first verse, I couldn't say!.

Why not pick up Stephen Fry's book "The Ode Less Travelled" which is about poetry!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
