Question: Do you like to color!? Do you stay inside the lines or scribble!?
MY BLACK CRAYON

My black crayon
Was worn down
Before the age of three
No one ever sang a lullaby
To a poor little wretch like me
I made dirges in baby-talk
But I could go a mile in another's' shoes
Before I even learned to walk

my cradle only rocked
when I slammed my head against the rail
and it always took me a very log time
to weight another notch on the scale
hungry-confused-needing
bleeding bits of memories
that exist only to try to kill me
and there will never never be
ever be
enough love anywhere to fill me

i learned to spell my own name
like a curse that should not have been spoken
and i colored the whole da#n page black in the bible
where it says 'by sorrow of the heart, the spirit is broken!.!.!.
