Question: And what does Yule time say to you!?
Yule Time Spirit

In this, the Midwinter Festival of the Lights
Pagans, Christians- celebrations were ever joined!.
A spirit, spirits, wedded, welded, forever!.

And of what does the Yule time spirit say to you!?
Do your souls hear the shepherds' calls of ancient times,
or the ringing bells of merchants' hands extended!?
Do you stand to kneel before the King with true heart
or dance to the jig of commerce ever calling!?

Let the stars that shined so long ago still burn bright
not in the upward skyward night!.!.!. but in your hearts!.
Spirits wedded, welded- still seek their comfort there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wonderful poem!.

It hit me below the belt though!. I am stressed, with so many things to do that I don't get anything done!. When you touch someone with this kind of strength, then you know your poem has touched emotions and lives!. Always the mark of a great poet!. tWww@QuestionHome@Com

As a Christian celebration, Christmas' validity and origins are debatable at best!.

It is unlikely Jesus was born in December--the flocks would not have been in the fields at that time!. Besides, I believe the birth of Christ, along with his death and resurrection, can be celebrated every day of the year!.

But Yuletide comes at a time when many of us need a break from the drear of winter!. It give us a reason to be nice to one another!. And we are again and again reminded that "Christ is born!." If more people experience love because of Christmas, and if more people find ways to be generous because of Christmas, then the holiday is well worth it!.

I am 67 years old!. The first Christmas I remember was 63 years ago!. I remember toys and love and happiness!. Few Christmases since have been that happy, but that's more because of me than because of Christmas!.

So I say let's celebrate the real things of value to us!. Family!. Security!. Our homes!. This year for the first time in my life I have two granddaughters who join the four grandsons who have been in our family a while longer!. Not the last of the grandbabies, we hope, but certainly something to carry us through another Yuletide season with cheer and hope!.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!Www@QuestionHome@Com
