Question: Does anyone know what this poem is talking about!?
"Disappear" by Emerson Greene

I can scare you with my magic tricks,
My mystifying magic tricks -
I specialize in making everybody disappear!.
One by one they go,
And one by one, I watch them all
Grope for air
As suffocation
Takes them by the throat!.
I love a good laugh,
But I hate to see them falling down -
Once upon a time,
I thought they’d help with what I lacked,
But as I’ve grown, indeed I see
That all along, it wasn’t me -
They wanted all my pure white clothes
So they could stain them black!.
I’m a magician -
I make things disappear,
Never to return,
But only if they’re dark or dirty,
Poisoned, rank, or torn!.
I make them all vanish
With a simple flick of the wrist,
And oh! When anger sets in them,
You should see their faces twist!
And, poof!
They are gone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I believe the author is talking about people they once trusted and how they all eventually left!. Maybe the author is feeling as though they drive people away, like a disappearing act!.

The lines "And one by one, I watch them all grope for air as suffocation takes them by the throat," I believe, refers to their sudden feeling of discomfort of being in the relationship (with the author)!. Maybe feelings of suffocation set in and they decide to leave (or disappear)!.

But then the author realizes that maybe it wasn't his/her fault but, rather, the wrong desires!.!.!."They wanted all my pure white clothes so they could stain them black"!.!.!. that caused them to leave!. Maybe the author didn't yield to their desires, thus revealing their true intent and causing them to "disappear"!.

And, maybe, I'm way off!. Who knows!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think it's about feeling alienated and ignoring negative people and thoughts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
