I'm not sure if this is what you want!. Rhyme and metre/meter (!?) are some times formalised!. There are things like iambic pentameter which Shakespeare uses which is sequential long and short sound which gives the language a rhythm!. Japanese Haiku has a set number of syllables!. Sonnets have a specific number of lines!.
Have you goolgled a poetry dictionary of terms!.
