Question: Would you comment on a poem about a school assignment!?
On the day before Christmas vacation
students offer their simple recitations
assignment was to be of a poem quite small
themed "Peace on Earth, Goodwill to All"
One by one they read aloud with good cheer
until a young girl stood wiping her tears
"In my home this is all a sad lie
on Christmas Day we'll be saying goodbye!.
My daddy's going off to the Iraqi war
he's a doctor, so he'll see nothing but gore
if he comes back, I'll ask about peace

It saddens my heart to see what the children go through when a parent has to leave!. Sometimes they are the forgotten heroes in all of this mess!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
This has to be one of the most moving things I have read in a while!.!.!.!.it is right up there with some of your other poems in that respect!.!.!.!.quite possibly even more so!. Beautiful!.!.!.!.and I love the clever way you found rhyming words!. Your additional detail makes it even more touching, of course!.
