Question: Do you have a "Happy Memory" that comes to mind every now and again!?
Happy Memory
I finger the fabric
of that apron all worn!.
A patch was placed here
where it was torn!.
Made out of an old feed sack
material so faded with years!.
I can see it plain as day
Even through my tears!.
That warm winter kitchen
where she cooked up her bread!.
The smell I still can't describe,
and a recipe card left unread!.
As I lift up the apron
and take in the sweet smell
All those memories return
The memory of her death as well!.
This apron is such a reminder
of happy times long gone!.
But in my heart her love
lives on and on and on!.

Nicely done,,,For me I like to go back to when my son was born -He's in collage now- And I like to go back to all the Holidays that family came for dinner,,Listening to all the stories ,,!.Good & now even the bad ones don;t seem that bad ) All the family history being passed down from Generation to Generation,,,,,,,,,,

Funny how smells linger in our memory!. I can still smell the hankie my mom used to wipe my mouth off with in church on Sunday!. She'd spit on it to get it wet and then wipe off whatever breakfast was lingering on my lips!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

back in '85!.!.!. i was 5 years old, at my late grandparents house!. grandma and papa were happy and healthy!.
grandma dancing in the living room with one of my older cousins, hand in hand, cheek to cheek, laughing and having a big ole time!. it was about 5 years before she developed altzeimer's!.
papa and the guys smoking cigars and playing cards, and their only concern was about what they had in their hands, not the homemade meal, the egg nog or the pumpkin pie!.
i remember the pink cowgirl boots i opened under that tree with the great big multi-colored light bulbs!. to this day, i had never seen anyone else use the enormous bulbs that she put on her tree!.
all was good, everyone was well and happy, and i hadn't a care in the world!.
those were the days!.!.!.
