Certainly they can be more intense, and historically; darkness, anger, depression, confusion, angst, etc!. are most prolific in context in volumes of poetry or prose!. I don't know that I'd use the word "easy" though!. Some who write on the dark side, do so merely to vent, or find some therapy in expressing that way!.
