Question: Do soldiers have "down-time" on their jobs!?
a soldier
in a yellow hat
was struggling with a calf in the mud,
his bloody hands gripping the beast's jaw,
exposing fat teeth and slabbed tongue!.
Now, he is breathing angrily,
tapping his strength
the villagers cheer him
a boy in tattered red shoes prays
at the edge of the sinkhole
the hat is splashed and becomes
a giant bumblebee
the animal is free
a dirty haired woman
with a club gives chase
through a rutted street
more cheering
the soldier shoots the air
the boy steals the hat
hungry laughter
glee, for
the feast is forth-
coming!.
