Question: What's your opinion of mutual admiration societies!?
It seems to me that, in the main, the poetry site consists of a small group of "wannabes" who post their efforts just to be told how gifted they are!. Then they return the favour to those who pander to their ego, while people who can genuinely write poetry are ignored and scorned!. Do you sometimes wish that these folk would just email their stuff to the members of their little clique and give the rest of us a break!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, we are of one mind!.!.!. it might even allow them the luxury of finally being honest with one another, rather than doing it out in public and being consigned to the shunned ones!. In the main, I'd just like to read more good poetry here; I'm not the type to stroke strangers to appear better than I am!. When I say it, you can bet my response, whether enthusiastic or not, genuinely reflects my thoughts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I sometimes think that I am ignored, I sometimes think I get false attention!.
I look for credibility in my contacts and I judge fairly on merit!.
I like to answer questions with a poetic attempt of my own as I need to use my brain!.
I do not think my words are better or worse than the others who post here!.
I post some pretty lame stuff sometimes,
to each their own and own your destiny!.!. I know what my capablilities are and they are different on any given day!.
I think in the scheme of things if mutual admiration societies exist let them be and go on with life in your own society!.
A square cog will never fit in a round hole!.!. face it!.

I am not agreeing to this!. While I respect your opinion, I do think you are wearing blinders!. Truly some people do post only to get the pat on the back!. I don't think most do!. I am a very ordinary person, and I strive to improve my writing!. I can only surmise that others that write are doing the same!. And as for that pat on the back!.!.!.there is nothing wrong with giving one!. A poem does not have to be great to get one!. Maybe the poet has simply improved a lot!. Then the pat might be a way of saying your effort is noticed!.!.!.keep it up!. I know that sometimes after I have been through all of my contacts posts, there is little time left to search the other non-contacts posts to answer questions!. Be they poetic or otherwise!. In that sense you are right - at least as far as it concerns me!. It's best not to put ones level above another though!. It causes hurt feelings that then get turned into attacks!. :-)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Interesting supposition!.

No I think writers place poems on this site to share, receive comments and to join with like-minded people who enjoy writing and using words in different styles!.

There exists groups of like-minded people who wish to encourage one another in their attempts to discover and explore the creative outlet of using words in poetic style!. Yes sometimes honesty does lack in some answers!.b Not all people are adept critics of literature, but everyone has an opinion on whether they like a poem or not!.!.!.and that's what really matters here!. Not seeking approval but enjoying wordplay!.

I think if you were a valid and reliable critic you would have your own website!.!.!.and promote that!. Since you have to share Yahoo Answers, which you don't own nor control, it is not your place to say who can post their offerings!. You can like or dislike a poem and say why but you cannot veto anyone from freely posting their efforts!. Your choice to answer or not!.

I think you need to concentrate on establishing some credibility as a critic because it isn't obvious to everyone!.

Edit: not surprised at all since your deceptive nature is legendary!. I gather they are fans of me also!.!.!.!.OMG I see a pattern! Mutual Admiration!.!.!.!.does this mean Yahoo promotes it through Fans and Contacts!?!.!.!.I seen the light!Www@QuestionHome@Com
