to using the word "clever" and you are weary of avoiding it's lure!. Nothing is clever no matter the protestations of the wicked word butchers!. Last night when the cat tricked the dog you came as close as you ever have!. It would be too easy to put it in a couplet with never!. Wait I must ask a clever man ah, the person who penned the poem!Www@QuestionHome@Com If a Poet, will call his self a Poet Then surely, no word could be Considered, too cheap For whatever words, you deliver Must it not be, arranged In such a manner To lose ones self, in the meaning !? To notice a singular word And render it, a "distraction" Are you not, blinding yourself To the depicted, painting!? Some poems are cute and comical Others more deep; universal Words can fit anywhere, when You find, the right note!. Just dare to challenge, them And they shall, be musical Can I not be beautiful, if everyday I see The same features, stare back at me!? The same chipped tooth, that gives Character, to my naturally devilish smirk (Something, I let slip in candour) And yet here it is again, imperfect But still, so ME - Brushing my teeth, in front of the bathroom vanity Entitled you are, to your point But to me, (sorry) it Smells of elitism!. A suggestive idea, to scissor away Common words, altogether And perhaps, a well disguised need is surrendered A distinction; a bow tie, to elevate a Man, for the telling of man's condition!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Here's one right from the Horse's Mouth (or is that Assez Jack!?) An actual Iano answer: "On the subject of profundity, perhaps such a thing, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder!? Then again, maybe not!. Though the interpretation of some things can be subjective, such is not the case with everything!. I actually find this poem to be quite profound in its message: that the narrator is so smitten with his beloved that, not only would the touch of her lips on the cup from which she drinks (and presumably him after her) be like a kiss to him, but that could he drink from Jehovah's metaphorical divine nectar (partake of communion with God), he would prefer hers!. What he is essentially saying is that he would put his love for her before his love of God!. The level of adoration expressed herein (and the way in which he has done so) is therefore surely profound, wouldn't you say!? As for universal truth, he won't have been the first or the last man who felt like this when caught up in love's first heady rush!." As someone famous once said, the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about!. TDU's actually quoting me now, albeit trying to disguise it as a put-down!. It sounds barbaric to me!. I cringe when I hear overweight people say it like "I need f***!" When ,clearly they could live off what they got for awhile!. And to hear someone instruct anoouther human being to "Eat your f***!" sounds like they are speaking to an animal to me!.
