Question: A Poem from my past!. What do you think of my style!?
This is the kind of thing I used to write 10 years ago!.!.!.odes for people at work!.!.!.to amuse!. I thought you might like to read it!.!.!.!.

Stan, Stan the Courier Man

A footballer and an explorer share their names with Stanley
He (like them) is virtuous, handsome, brave and manly!.
(You can pay me later Stan, sterling notes will suffice
I hope I haven't overdone it, I've kept the praise precise)!.
Our eponymous hero is a man of talents strange
Everything you utter, he can always re-arrange!.
You must be very careful what you say when he's around
Since saucy double entendres by him are always found!.

You must never, never ask him if he wants "doing quick"
Or in talking of the old days, say "Did you like spotted dick!?"
If you ask, sweetly "Will you be coming, Friday!?"
The answer you receive is like a complex verbal ballet!.
Talking at cross-purposes is his particular delight
Have you heard his answer to "Do you smoke in bed at night!?"!?
He's got the razor wit of a plastic surgeon's knife
(Which must be very trying for his poor, long-suffering wife)!.

I wonder what his teacher thought all those years gone by!?
"What's he doing in my class!?What happened!?Tell me, Why!?"
You, see he had the face of an angel, with a mop of curly hair
But a demon sparkle in his eye, and a mood of devil-may-care!.
If teachers couldn't tame him, then how the hell can we!?
All we can do is go along with it and enjoy his company!.
He's promised me that I ALONE am the object of his desire
And that he cannot wait till we can find some passion by the fire!.

Fortunately, I've realised that monogamy is his thing
And there's a lovely wife at home, who makes his pulses sing!.
Please take what Stanley says with an enormous pinch of salt
He cannot help himself, you know, it's not his personal fault!.
Incorrigible is what he is, with no chance of reformation
And personally, I shouldn't like to see such transformation!.
Stan is a harmless and as innocent as they 'come'
God, I've used his favourite word - damn and blast and bum!

Thought I did this already!. It's ok, i enjoyed reading it again!. This one is destined for greatness!. It is a beautiful description of Stan Stan, and it is dated on my 51st birthday!. I love your descriptions, and I can hear Stan twisting your own words around and giving his answers to "Do you smoke after sex!?", and he replies, Don't know, luv, never looked!."
