Old woman in tattered robe knelt by her rose bed, surrounded by the dark of predawn, crying!. I heard her tears every morning!. As the light of day came upon her, I saw her wipe them from her face!. She gathered the fallen rose petals around her, feeling just as withered and spent as they!.

In her gentle digging, sensitive tips from her age-spotted hands felt it and her eyes beheld!. Like a crystal prism catches light, it sparkled as she lifted it to the full morning sun!. I watched as though a meteor had landed in the very place she now stood!.

Yet she did not blink as blinding shafts radiated from this newly found treasure!. She turned to me and asked, "I've not seen light such as this, pray tell me, what do I hold in my hands!?"

"My child," I spoke, "I have heard you all these mornings, on bended knee as you've cried!. Your tears I have counted and collected as they've fallen, then compressed like coal!. What you hold is your own Hope Diamond!. I cannot bear to see you in such darkness for even one more day!."

"I shall carry this beacon of hope with me always, but on bended knee you'll still find me, here, before the day begins," she vowed!.
