Disciplined poets who've dutifully studied poetic artifice don't always write the best poetry!. Great people sometimes can't write at all!. To consider someone a good person because they write good poetry is flawed thinking!. For me, the most glaring example of this is Dickens; the best literature produced by a petty little man!. Www@QuestionHome@Com Perhaps, in as much as we judge with the evidence on hand!. Often, maybe too often, we see the poet as his/her eyes see!. We want to know the origin of the words!. Are they hard facts or elusive pins tickling our minds!? As for myself, I care not so much of the character as I do the content!.
