Question: Are a poet's merits in direct correlation with his poems!?

Good question!. Disciplined poets who've dutifully studied poetic artifice don't always write the best poetry!. Great people sometimes can't write at all!. To consider someone a good person because they write good poetry is flawed thinking!. For me, the most glaring example of this is Dickens; the best literature produced by a petty little man!. Perhaps, in as much as we judge with the evidence on hand!. Often, maybe too often, we see the poet as his/her eyes see!. We want to know the origin of the words!. Are they hard facts or elusive pins tickling our minds!? As for myself, I care not so much of the character as I do the content!. History has shown, that great words do not always come from great people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
