I can't help you with the other one, but the red sky at night sailor's delight (I think it was supposed to be ranchers) Red sky at morning (farmers) warning I think it was!.
Anyways, that phrase means that if there is a red sky at the night, the next day was supposed to be clear of rain!.!. But if there is a red sky at morning, then that means it was supposed to rainWww@QuestionHome@Com

Those silly old sayings are based on something called "folk wisdom," which is what used to be considered what every child needs to know!. Some of it, like "Red sky at morning; sailors take warning!. Red sky at night is a sailor's delight" are still with us!.
