Question: What the heck is the meaning of "The Raven"!?

I love this poem, but I have no idea about it's meaning and why the heck the raven is there, can anybody fill me in!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Generally, the raven is a symbol of bad luck -- it's considered a bad omen!. The man in the poem has recently lost his wife, Lenore, and his sadness is haunting him!. The raven personifies the man's sadness; the fact that the raven constantly remains symbolizes the fact that the man will never get over his loss or his sadness!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
