Question: And what can glass shards yield!?
Glass Shards

Poet sat upon the sunrise day
and pondered so mightily
for mosaic glassy shards
to illuminate in newness light!.
And the hamper filled with
blackened, crumpled filings
while sun noon passed through
but the Poet saw none of this
as the world he travelled
was mind to pen!.
And in this world he cared not
for illusions of praise for
mediocrity for his was the grail
search for the perfect line, the
perfect verse, the perfect pen!.
For when these shards do
painstakingly fit at last,
a mosaic rich in untold hues
await the viewer’s eye to feast!.

The fragments fall, and the poet must gather them and painstakingly arrange them to form that "perfect line", that "perfect verse" that become "a mosaic rich in untold hues"!. It is a calling and a privilege to be the recipient of these "mosaic glassy shards"!. The Poet is driven to create the mosaic, above and far beyond the need for recognition, but, still, awaiting "the viewer's eyes to feast"!.
This is simply incredible!. I love it!. Thank you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I may disagree with you upon the notion that a Glass shard represents a (piece) of the poet's imagery!.
In my opinion, each shard is a Whole mirror, glass, or pane!. It is a whole imagery at a given moment, reflecting a certain image or idea, while another shard is another whole imagery in the consecutive moment!.
In this case, the viewer's eye wouldn't feast by seeing the shards linked together in a mosaic ( static) form, but rather feast upon seeing those Panes rolling, one scene after another, in a moving (dynamic) form!.
The degree of transparency of each pane, or the cleanness of each mirror, reflects the genuineness of the poet!. Simple words are more transparent and more effective than complex ones!.
Nice read, my friend! keep the lights on, as usual! Www@QuestionHome@Com

When those glass shards are properly chosen and assembled, each is the poet's soul complete and when fitted precisely, thoughtfully, they are a parabolic mirror, engaged in the grandest anamorphosis of all, one that takes the distortion that our everyday minds make of the world and refocuses the distorted image so that it is understood for the first time as it truly is!. An excellent metaphor of the poet's craft!. I would be honored if you would go to my Profile Page and take a moment to read and comment on my open posting; tell me if my act of anamorphosis has revealed anything, has meant anything!. Thank you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I could have done with a bit more punctuation in this, to help me (poor reader) not to stumble as I read!.

for illusions of praise, for mediocrity, for this was the grail search for the perfect line!.!.!.
or is it
for illusions of praise for mediocrity, !?

are the 'blackened, crumpled filings' !.thoughts in the brain which have been discarded!? (you can tell me!)

The analogy is good!.!.!.!.!.and there is a feeling here of a religious zeal in the search (church window/grail) and a sense of history, since I see a poet of long ago in a dusty sunfilled room with no sense of time!.!.!.quill pen in hand!.
It is a poem which grows upon you from repeated readings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You continue to top, "yourself" This poem is fully overwhelming to
my senses, I must read it several times!.

Liken unto a mosaic stained glass window!. Parts gathered from different places in time and space - gathered with precision and grace!. Placed in a pattern in no man's space!. When finished - present a discernible form - to enlighten the human race!. ?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I liked this Neonman, I liked the way you used Shards of Glass to represent ideas, words, pictures all to be fitted together like a jigsaw puzzle, until each shard when brought together formed a mirror able to reflect back an acceptable image!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is very good, and fitting!. My only problem is it's not shards of glass I contend with, bit bits of my brain exploded in the dauntless search for elusive perfection!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Bravo, Neon!. My hamper runneth over!. I love the imagery of shards becoming the beautiful mosaic mirror!. Thanks for this!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Like a sand painting!. You'll want to keep the pets out of that room until you're done!. (I don't know; I was thinking like a Buddhist sand portrait, or whatever those are called!. You know what I'm talking about!?)Www@QuestionHome@Com
