Duggan McLean’s Last Stand

The night was wet and dark
And like a ghost white and stark
Rode the man

His coat was dripping with rain
A whip from his right hand hanged
Ready for use

He entered that old shack
With vengeance in his heart of black
A man was going to die

His eyes were a steely grey
Left hand ready for the fray
That was about to take place

“Duggan Mclean” The Rider said
“I’m here” the boy-man replied with dread
A drop of sweat hit the ground

“Jody was my brother
No man lived that was tougher or slyer
Than he

Only way to do him in
Would require sin
Murder”

Duggan’s face paled
As he put his right hand on the bunk rail
Knowing that his time had come

He walked toward the man
Full of grit and sand
Making the space between them an even three feet

His face was cool
But inside he knew
That he was finished

Suddenly a smile
A smile that was calm yet wild
He could hear the rain outside

Then a hand flashed a gun
A father and a son
Met in a cruel battle

The Fathers strong shoulders sag
The son’s young face goes blank
They hit the floor at the same time!.

Another man rode in
A face that death had seen
And lost

Jody stared at his nephew and brother
A smile that was like no other
Cruel, evil, and wicked,

"Ahhh brother thank you
For killing yourself and my nephew
I will live and you die

I have won everything by being so sly"
With these words Jody made as if to try
To bury his kin

But as he lifted the son
He failed to notice the ****** gun
Lying across the chest

And as this evil man lifted the boy
The gun went off and the devil danced with joy
Three was the number of the dead now!.
