Question: Who knows the fool when he sees him!?
The Fool
by Job Whipple

Beyond the human city's barren walls
A ragged man strides on, his breeches torn
By ravening canine maw, a knave forlorn,
Inured to jeers, if he hears them at all!.
His shoulder bore a bundle, limp and white,
Pale ochre's empty pouch swung as he passed
And in his grasp a golden staff held fast,
A lodestar pointing passage in the night!.
His jesters cap and mantle shone as gold
And also blessed the earth where his feet fell,
The consciousness of all did he enfold
Within his breast, where wisdom came to dwell!.
An age has passed, our walls have crumbled since --
Not so, I fear, our diamond ignorance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ah, a voice crying in the wilderness!.!.!.and just like the last time, likely to be mocked or ignored!. If only it were not so!. Perfect poetry profoundly personified!. Those that have ears to hear, let them hear!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Job,

This poem reminds me somewhat of Christ who was put up as a jester, and by some considered to be a knave!. His loadstar was his father in heaven who guided his path!. He goes without purse or scrip!. We, even today are transparent in our ignorance of his message!. Many will cry Oh fool that I am!.

This may not be what you mean but it is what I feel about it!. I think that this is a very good poem and I congratulate you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
