come here, please, sit next to me
it's time for us to talk
no need to be scared, I promise
everything will be all right
there now, hold my hand and
look into my eyes as you do
tell me, what do you see!?
no, don't look away, be brave
look deeply, what do you see!?
Uh, huh, that's what I thought
those things you see I am not
nor ever really wanted to be
don't move away, stay close
dry your tears at the death of
your own manufactured dream
I've let you down and I'm sorry
my flaws unhidden, always there,
your own need rendered you blind
I know this truth hurts to accept
your faith in me I treasured, yet
its burden took too great a toll
if you must, go now, find another
whose perfection can match your dream
that's right, drop my hand, get up but
know, in your search, I wish you love!.

i wish i could say these words to my ISO!. he is so disappointed in me!. i'm not perfect, i have flaws, i can't be who YOU want me to be!. i have to be ME!.
i guess that's not good enough!.

wow, that sounds just like what happened when my ex told me he cheated on me!. It was really hard to look into his eyes cause i knew i couldn't bere to see the truth in his eyes!. that was about a year ago and it still hurt so bad to read that it brought tears to my eyes, your a good writerWww@QuestionHome@Com
This speaks of facade and pretense!. When someone falls into a pattern of keeping up an appearance to please another,meanwhile forgetting themselves!.It's a burden too heavy to bear forever!. Very lovely poem!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I Let him down also,
Though my Flaws were never hid!.
On my Knees I pleaded,
For him, me, to forgive!.
I Cried myself a river,
Waded in my Pain!.
Then through my own
Self hatred, let him down

I tried to say,
I'm Sorry,
I tried to make it up!.
But this time I had gone
Too far, for he had had,
Enough!.
I Watched him as
He walked Away,
Not a word was said!.
No goodbye, or contact
No nod of his head!.

A friend of mine and one of my daughters both have recently chosen the person they wish to stay with!. Neither of those choices seemed very wonderful to me!. When I tentatively asked 'Why this one!?' both told me 'Because I can be myself when I'm with him!. I don't have to pretend to be wonderful all the time, I can relax'!.!.!.!.I think we all try to show our best side to new friends, lovers!.!.!.but, it isn't natural and the sooner you can be yourself the better!. If they walk away!.!.!.then you're not compatible!.!.!.and it is for the best!.
