Some days, well most days actually, I have my doubts!.
No flattery, please!.!.!.honest responses!.!.!.I can take it!.
The Creative Minefield
I think that I will never see
A poem lovely as a tree!.
Hang on a bit!.!.!.my tired brain
Is stealthily stealing lines again!.
Listen, Muse, shall we agree
Not to let great poets influence me!?
Back to the drawing-board, she said
Damn you, cliches,
get out of my head!.
King Spring lingers bringing winged!.!.!.!.
(You c'n have too much of a good thing)
Alliteration, echo rhyme
I write such rubbish most of the time!.
I must sweep out this brain of mine,
Expand my horizons
Feast my eyes on!.!.!.
-hm, what do you think!?
Yep, it stinks!.
This po'try writin' is a pain
Like standing in the freezing rain!.
But, sometimes (only sometimes, mind)
The Poetry God is really kind
And a gift he gives to me
A verse which says
Don't despair
Occasionally
You do write!.!.!.

There is a God of Poetry
occasionally he beckons me
To write a lyric for a song
But me to sing is just plain wrong!
If you could hear me in the shower
My morning stage for quarter hour
With hair brush mike I have such flair
Such dubious talent will get me!.!.!.!.!.!.no where!
And so the only thing to do
Regale with gusto on Yahooooo!

In truth and in pity I have had NO drinks

In my little corner where it is night

Now I must leave, Dreamland destination
