Question: Dancing With God - my poem, what do you think!?
I looked out at the dance floor
Everyone had a partner
But me

Everyone was having fun
Enjoying their time
Doing their dances, their things
But me

I was pulled in once
But it almost made me sick
I had to leave

The lights were filtering
The music flowing
Everyone dancing
But me

Someone put his hand on my shoulder
He smiled took my hand
And asked for the dance

In His Eyes I could see
He really wanted to
I took His Hand
And said yes

I didn't know the song
I wanted to lead
He asked me to trust Him

I let Him move me
To turn me around the room
Sometimes I still resisted His Lead
Again He asked me to trust Him

I responded to Him
His Words
His Promises

And when the dance was over
He gently hugged me
And whispered "Well done, My child"
I realized the best sort of dance

Is dancing with God!.

I wrote it after my friend said that life is like dancing with God!. What do you think!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your poem as written is not as important as the message it gives to us!.

To me the dance represents to world, and the dancers are those of the world all enjoying themselves with the things the world has to offer!. Even though you would like to be asked to dance God has other plans for you!.
Though you are somewhat worldly yourself God knows that deep inside you wish for something better, so do the other dancers for you are not really as they are, you are not asked to dance!.
God comes to the world (The dance) just to let you know that He will be your partner, and even though your worldliness try's to take over you finally realize that it is he who will lead you in the dance (Life)!.

It sure beats 'dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight!.' Reminds one of 'in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your steps!.' For me He is the Lord Jesus Christ-Father Son and Holy Spirit!. The One who promises forgiveness of sin to the repentant, as well as life and life more abundantly!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
