October Falls
Arizona holds
only two
seasons to declare
Summer and Winter
What does October
bring to you!?
Line of demarcation
for us in the desert
marks end of summer
beginning of winter
more than weather
it entails!.
Closure of blistering
days of heat
the snowbirds
slowly arrive
local economy readies
to breathe a deep sigh!.
Holiday decorations
fill store aisles
street lamps all
adorned with wreaths
already the hustle
and bustle begins!.
This year no day
on calendar marked
with families'
arrival dates,
early shopping
to be no more!.
Economy tanked
pockets are empty
this October
brings not fall
but instead
a thundering crash!.

In the month of October
comes a few things!.
Pretty soon in Canada
It will be Thanksgiving!.
The leaves start falling
as this happens the weather
becomes cooler nights
are longer days shorter!.
Sometime in October is
October fest!.
At the end of October
is halloween!.
People start getting ready for Christmas
putting up the decorations outside!.

The time I spent in Az!. I have to agree that there were only 2 seasons, and they changed daily!. We had summer during the day and winter at night, 365 days a year!. Therefore with 2 season changes per day, that made a total of 730 season changes a year!. In June of 1967 it snowed 4 inches during the night, and hit 105 when the sun came up in the desert city of Tucson!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The beginning of the academic year is always a busy time!.!.!.!.with students returning to use the library where I work after the long summer break!. great poem! i love fall months, probably my favorite season, winter being a close second!. the smell of wood smoke in the air, leaves changing into glorious golds and reds, cool crisp air!. i try to put the problems of the world that people of created out of my mind and instead enjoy what this beautiful earth has given us!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Although it's not November or Thanksgiving, it reminds me of cool weather, family, snuggling with my three year old daughter and fiancee, get togethers wiht plenty comfort food and men (in my family) around the tv enjoying the football game!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In Florida, October is a fickle tease!.!.!.
But mostly in Florida it warm and damp or cool and damp with an occasional perfect weather day!. I feel your economic pain, how people are surviving with kids to feed and raise is beyond me!
