Question: Is this a non-poetic statement to a recalcitrant Muse!?
The Poet Argues With Her Muse
By Elaine Polin

My Muse and I
had an argument
over what is
and what is not
poetry!.

She made me
feel so angry
I told her
to take a long
hike!.

My Muse said
“I’m going over
to Dondi’s house
and maybe I’ll never
return!.”

That’s okay
I’m still
mad
at
her!.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
I know what you mean!. That dang nymph Erato always visits me in the middle of the night and then I have to get up and meet her needs!.
I write best around 3am!.

Calliope the 'beautiful of speech' chief of the muses and muse of epic or heroic poetry

Clio the 'glorious one' muse of history

Erato the 'amorous one' muse of love or erotic poetry, lyrics, and marriage songs

Euterpe the 'well-pleasing' muse of music and lyric poetry

Melpomene the 'chanting one' muse of tragedy

Polyhymnia or Polymnia the '[singer] of many hymns' muse of sacred song, oratory, lyric, singing and rhetoric

Terpsichore the '[one who] delights in dance' muse of choral song and dance

Thalia the 'blossoming one' muse of comedy and bucolic poetry

Urania the 'celestial one' muse of astronomyWww@QuestionHome@Com

It's quite a poetic statement!. Your muse will come back, tail dragging!. They always do:

Has anybody seen
my old lady muse I been
runnin up the street lookin
she’ll be on a barstool somewhere
showin her stockingtops and lending
inspirations to songwriters painters
and all those sushi chefs

and I can’t write a
single
untired
coherent
word
after
another -

look:

all is just twisted eggs
shuttlecocks blending
fires and hedgerows in sleek
Euclidian doldrums -
nasturtium f**kpiles

waitin for the day she’ll
come back to me but
she keeps movin away

like a cloud above a tree above a man
still
above the ground

movin away

anyway

ouch
