IT’S A SMALL WORLD
Why does the world
shake so much!?
Is it itching!?
Do the strands
bend the same way
because there is only one wind!?
Why are there places
in the world
where I can’t go!?
…down there,
on the narrow end,
where the whip is,
…up there,
on the busy end,
where ivory and glass wait,
…under there,
on the soft place,
where claws can reach!?
Why won’t the world stay between
the insulation and the sheetrock,
…in the crack
where the world chewed
a whole in the vinyl siding
and made a rat’s nest!?
How much can a flea understand!?

This is what happens when the poet compares himelf to a flea--or to a hinking reed!. The poetic world is small, with few brilliant minds and at Midnight or 2 AM when the rest of the world is asleep, some poets want to go where no poet has gone before!. The unanwerable questions pile up, but there is no safety in poetry!.The world of brilliant poetry contains the whip and the claws and the rat's nest,exposing the poet to its dangers!. But comparison is useless and hurtful, though it makes for good poetry!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
