I posted this earlier as I wasn't sure of a title, but finally went with a suggested one!.

Today I Found You


All I can see is the way the sun hits your face and hair,
and the way it falls on fields!.
You lean with the grass, bucket against hips
as your feet tread against the wind, hair blown back
into a tuft against your face
as you turn to smile!.
It is richer to imagine colors;
I'm sure the sky was lavender, pink along the horizon,
the grass maybe washed in gold

as the sun set!.
It started at the ends of your hair
and moved in to your cheeks,
worked it's way around
as you became encased in light,
drawn into the sky!.
You were placed in the archives of a past
grandmother, and then left to fade into sepia,
buried by a road map of lines!.

Today I found you
as you fell through a stack of albums,
and placed you back between the stained adhesives and laminated strips!.
Your rusted sunset spilled over you
