Question: Will you support our Soldiers !?
We left the jeep
In an Alley
Half a click
From our objective

Nothing
Had prepared us for this!.
Benning, Bragg, Iraq
Fucghanistan - all cake

The four of us - Airborne
Same unit - Bravo Company
Same age - 20
Buddies for life

We had volunteered
For this mission
To find Jack
And bring him home

We moved in silence
Frenchy and Ballinger led
I held center
D-Port the rear

We were scared
Thirsty
Our tags and hearts
Just sounds

Night
Hid our place
Our youth
The fear

Jack was there
Up ahead
In that Hole
The objective

We neared!.!.!.!.!.!.

The place
Windows blinded
Security tight
Perimeter wired

We waited
We scoped
The signal
The diversion

Frenchy and Ballinger
Charged the door
D-Port covered them
I slipped past

Inside
We saw Jack
Took our positions
Yelling orders

"Sorry guys, I'm gonna need to see your ID's"Www@QuestionHome@Com

A smile at the end of a serious poem!. This type of twist is what poetry should do!. And to answer your question, of course, but I wish that soldiers could become an unnecessary commodity on our suffering planet!.

Thank you for that!. You should read "Dulce et decorum est" by Wilfred Owen!. And here is one of mine:

In Memoriam: Cory Palmer
(to Charles and Danna)

A proud and grateful nation, full of tears
envelopes you in mighty arms –
envelopes you in gentle arms
echoing the weeping that she hears!.

Our nations wage a great and noble war
to re-secure our liberty,
to defend our liberty
and secure the same for fifty- million more!.

Fifty- million formerly oppressed
find their way to work each day,
find their way to school each day
without the fear of torture and arrest!.

The very son of Satan and the sallow
goatherds of his herd,
his diabolical herd
have found their way to prison or the gallows!.

Such gallant acts require a sacrifice!.
“All will give some
And some will give all!.”
What you have paid is a very, very high price!.

In many ways you’ve suffered more than he!.
At rest he is in peace,
with God he is in peace!.
While you in grief and heartache still must be!.
