Wal-Mart started it All!
A novel idea, they espoused
Old Sam and the Arkie boys!.
Buy low and sell high to all!.
Where high was still low, to all!.
And they grew and grew and grew!.
Slogan’d the ‘Buy American Theme’
as imports started flooding shores!.
Just a ‘few’ containers from China!.
Soon it seemed you could walk
your way to China on those boats!.
An IV bag never empty, feeding!.
Old Sam and the Arkie boys smiling!.
Our own plants started closing,
they said they couldn’t compete!.
Sam and the boys just said inefficient
no need to worry, enjoy your IV’s!.
But the money pot started shriveling,
something about no jobs to be had!.
Come let’s hook up another IV for you
and sign here for that second line!.
say again: ‘E Plubus Creditum Unum!.’
‘We, a consumer nation with credit
cards and houses, both leveraged,
but always… always low prices!’
Those Arkie boys are sure smart!
Or were we!.!.!.well I would rather not say!.

There is a new consciousness filtering through the world, you can see it in the press, on the tv but most importantly in our children!. They care!.
We are becoming aware that we share a planet with every living thing on it and we share a responsibility for it's well-being!. That includes financial prudence!. This 'crunch' is overdue and needed!.

Sam Walton would think your Un-American for bringing this up because he is employing Americans and getting products out for cheap!. Cheapest isn't always!.
