Question: Would you care to comment on a seasonal poem!?
Still Summer
by C!.S!. Scotkin

The Mother teases
today with breezes
cool and delicious,
Sol soon comes
vicious with his heat!.

No Fall here…yet,
heat still will crush!.
The rush to hope
for November
days has come!.

A new season!.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
- wonder why folks get idea about missing october!
- thought poem uses season as an analogy to comment about the humdrum of certain human activities rudely awakened that one swallow does not make a summer!
- note definite article 'the' and capitalized 'M'other!.
- of course, 'sol' alludes to the sun that reminds that summer's not yet over despite the impromptu/occasional delicious breezes!. The sun's heat will still demolish the delicious breeze that gives false hope of the joys to come!.
- that is if one reads 'still' of the title not as a continuous process in motion but as a static/demobilized condition/assumption!. notice the implied period between 'days' and 'has' (and not 'have')!. so this 'has' refers not to the 'november days' but to 'Fall' at the beginning of the stanza!. Capitalized thus, it suggests another fall far from fall, the season!. !. !. !. possibly the Fall in theological terms!
- somewhere some-body's catholic or like a delirious canine, am simply chasing my own tail with shocking abandon!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Most people avoid November, there seems to be something impossibly dismal about it here!. I guess that's because November in the Ozarks means the trees shed their crown of beautiful leaves and the world is naked and vulnerable!. But I suppose Florida climate is different, in fact, I know it is!. A new season, a new dawn, a new day, a new poem, and a beautiful one!. Cyn, you never cease to amaze me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
